Polis perlu dibekalkan AI, IoT untuk banteras jenayah

The police must have advanced equipment, adapting to the rapid development of technology, said Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi.

He said that the security forces get various benefits in the fight against crime when criminals use the latest and fast changing technology in their operations. “In this case, the use of AI (intelligence) for example and IOT (Internet of Things) are some important things that should be given to the police,” he said.

Bagan MP Datuk said this during a press conference after the launch of Bagan Datuk IPD service in Hutan Melintang today. Meanwhile, Perak police chief Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, in his welcome speech, said that IPD Bagan Datuk started work on March 16 with a strength of 267 officers.

He said that the Melintang Police Station was chosen as the temporary duty station of the IPD Bagan Datuk after considering the quality of the police camp which was completed in 2012. “The allocation of RM2 million for the acquisition of 10 acres of land for the construction of the new IPD complex in Bagan Datuk has been approved under “Rolling Plan 4”, RMK12 (12th Malaysia Plan).

“The police have also applied for a construction cost of RM200 million under ‘Rolling Plan 5’,” he said. IPD Bagan Datuk is the 16th IPD in Perak Police, he said.
